Jenny Munday went to Nashville the middle of January. She has a manager, Jilla Web, and has been staying with her since her arrival. Together with Harry Sharpe, Wynonna Judd’s musical director for the past 9 years, they are writing and recording Jenny’s first CD.

In case you’re wondering why we chose Jilla Web as Jen’s manager, Jilla has had a long and successful career, and has been in the industry over 30 years. She is very professional and knows the music business inside and out. If you would like to see some of her previous work, you can visit one of her sites at: www.justagirltribute.com. I met her about 6 years ago when Jenny took voice lessons from her. She studied with her for two years before Jilla went to LA to pursue her own career. Jilla always said Jenny has the talent to be a professional singer and entertainer, and we are happy to be working with her again since she began managing and developing new artists.

Jen keeps us updated once a week. She has met Miss USA, Rachel Smith, Gretchen Wilson, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, American Idol finalist Kimberly Locke, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks and Dunn, and actually hung out with the Lynyrd Skynyrd band. In March 2007, lead guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mark “Sparky” Majekta, backed her up at a club in Nashville while she sang 2 of her new original songs. She met Dolly Parton’s bass player, and Donna Summer’s bass player just recorded a track for one of her songs. In another stroke of good luck, Paris Hilton’s personal trainer wants to be Jen’s choreographer for her dance routines! Jen has gotten another job at a very nice restaurant, Sambuca, and works 5 days a week. She can now live off her tips and still have time to work on her music. Also, she has found and attends regularly, Christ Church, a wonderful church near her home in Nashville.

We are all doing what we can financially to get Jen’s career rolling, but it is hard for any artist to live day to day, and pay for all the promotional material they need to get and keep their career on track in such a fast paced and competitive business. Jen is starting to perform, but her shows at this point are more about her gaining valuable stage time and experience, and not about getting paid. However, she is preparing for a big audition with a Las Vegas producer in July, so maybe she will start getting some singing jobs that can make her some extra money. Jen is working very hard, and we are so proud of her courage and perseverance! Jilla calls it “moxy!”
